This year Kiwi West Aquatics sent a team of six swimmers to the 2020 AON NZ Short Course Championships. This ran from Tuesday 6th Oct to Sat 10th Oct 2020 at the Waterworld complex in Hamilton NZ.
This event was originally planned to run in Auckland. Unfortunately with the government’s COVID19 restrictions for the Auckland region, SNZ made the difficult decision to relocate the event to WaterWorld in Hamilton.
The KWA team was comprised of 6 swimmers – 3 female and 3 male swimmers, ages 13 to 18 years.
The results achieved by the Kiwi West team were:
- 15 Age group medals (9 Gold,3 Silver,4 Bronze)
- Our swimmers achieved six (6) other top 5 Finishes (every member of the team achieved at least 1 top 5 finish).
- 5 Open Medals (1 Gold, 1 Silver, 3 Bronze)
The Kiwi West Aquatics team also set a total of 21 records:
- 14 Manawatu Age Group Records
- 6 Manawatu Open Records
- 1 NZ Age Group record
